Why do some of my candles turn light yellow?
Vanillin mixed in some of the candles from the fragrance oils react to UV lights. If your candle is sitting in a bright lit room, over time can appear to change to a yellow. This will not change in the performance of the candle or the smell. It is recommended to keep your candle in a dim room to prevent discoloration.
Why does my candle start tunneling?
By not melting your candle to the edge (melt pool) on its first burn can cause a tunnel effect. Wax has memory, therefore it will continue to tunnel. Simply melt candle to a full melt pool or scoop the extra wax out to prevent future tunneling.
How long do the candles burn for?
Typically an 8oz candle can burn any where from 50-60 hours and the 4oz candle can burn from 20-40 hours.
Why does my candle have rough pitted spots after burning?
rough pitted spots after burning happens when the hot wax in the melt pool cools and solidifies at an inconsistent rate. In fact, this feature shows that its an all natural wax. It does not change the performance of the candle.
Why does my wood wick not light the first time or stay lit?
Woodwicks can be tricky, they are not like your usual cotton wick. Remember it’s not the wood fueling your candle’s flame, it’s the wax. The flame is drawing the wax upwards through the wick, so if it’s not trimmed short (1/8”) and clean, the wax can’t make it to the flame. If you are having a hard time, continue to attempt to light it. Being consistent on lighting the first time will result in the wick burning right. Always allow your candle to burn to a complete melt pool. If your candle won’t stay lit because it is “drowning” in a wax pool, try using a paper towel or napkin to soak up some of the excess wax.
